Tools in the Trades Boot Camp Concludes with Over 1,000 Participants

TORONTO – Support Ontario Youth (SOY) has wrapped up another successful season of its Tools in the Trades Boot Camp, with 1,089 participants gaining hands-on training in the skilled trades.

The program helped individuals explore career opportunities and connect with industry professionals.

“As a woman new to the trades, Tools in the Trades allowed me to overcome personal barriers as I worked toward securing an apprenticeship,” said Amanda Vey.

“With guided learning and practical experience, I developed new skills and built confidence.”

Program Achievements:

71 participants secured employment, with additional opportunities in progress.

    94% overall participant satisfaction rating

“Our goal has always been to create a pathway into the skilled trades through hands-on experience and direct industry connections,” said Melanie Winter, executive director of SOY.

The program’s success underscores the growing need for accessible skilled trades training and its positive impact on future apprentices.
