OTTAWA – As the five-week election campaign officially begins, federal party leaders are hitting the ground running, making key stops across the country to rally support.
Liberal Leader Mark Carney will emphasize Canadian unity and resilience with a campaign stop in Gander, Newfoundland—a town known for its incredible hospitality when it sheltered thousands of stranded travelers during the 9/11 attacks.
Meanwhile, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre and NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh will focus their efforts on the vote-heavy Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Singh will start his day in Montreal before heading to Toronto, while Poilievre will spend the entire day in the GTA, a region often critical to securing victory in a close race.
At the heart of each leader’s campaign is a unified vision for Canada, particularly as the country faces economic challenges and political tensions stemming from U.S. President Donald Trump’s policies and threats of annexation.
With election day set for April 28, party leaders are wasting no time making their case to voters.
